The challenge

The founders had strong market insight and a growing informal network, but no product. Employers hesitated because verification was manual and slow; candidates hesitated because there was no way to see which roles were real. Both sides needed trust signals before either would commit.

What we did

We worked through this in stages, starting with what had to be true before anything else could be built.

  1. Ran a discovery sprint that reduced a 60-feature wishlist to the eight that decided whether a placement happened.
  2. Designed verification as a product feature rather than an operational workaround, with status visible to both sides.
  3. Built the MVP on a stack chosen for speed to market and a clear upgrade path once volume justified it.
  4. Instrumented every funnel step from launch day so the first product decisions were made on real behaviour.

The result

Measured against the baseline captured during discovery, not against a target chosen afterwards.
